The first snowfall of the season early this morning. At about 4:30 am MST it started snowing and hasn't stopped all morning, of course the wind is making it so there isn't much sticking to the ground. I rode out yesterday and checked all of the fences before the elk start to move through. I saw a small herd of elk, maybe 15 or 20, wandering through the valley the other day no doubt they are getting ready for the winter as well. The elk will be moving out of the high country and soon there will be 300 or more in this valley. They sure do a number on the fences around here. Fence repair is an all year project up here, between the elk and the fillies, it will never end.
