So many horses coming in that i have to keep track of them by writing it down!. Well i do that any way . I have several really great quality horses for adoption as well as one or two for sale in the Slash Bar A division. If there is anything you are looking for just let me know and i will do my best to match you up with the right horse. I have a wonderful little mare in the rescue right now that i am really excited to get to her new home. I also have two older mares that are companion only that are looking for their forever pasture to retire on and enjoy the rest of their days. They are great colt sitters and make excellent projects for the little ones to groom and take care of without worrying about. Both of these girls can be seen on here in the retirements section or on the rescue site. I will be picking up two horses this weekend and another two nest week. Oh and one on friday. The two next week and the one on Friday are going to be in the performance division and go right into training to see what they have and for a good training program. The two on saturday will go straight to the rescue and be evaluated and put up for adoption pending their evaluations.
So needless to say that the rescue is going really well. I will be buying my winter hay coming up in afew weeks and getting the old place hunkered down and ready for the up coming snow. I am excited to be adding two more broodmares to the program as well, other than the one just added. There will be a mare in the load on next weeks run and one coming in October. Two APHA and one AQHA mares. This should make for a really exciting and diverse program for the performance division.
The weather has been getting colder and the nights feel really bitter in the mornings, i hope that this does not mean an early winter. i am not ready yet for that mess. Hopefully we can get the horses bunkered down and the shelters built before the ground freezes.
ALSO i am on the look out for a good donkey or mini burro. I would like to find one soon so that the herd is a little bit more protected form the predators out there. I may be picking up two little mini burros, but would really like to have a standard donkey to keep with the foals and to prtoect the herd. They make great watch dogs and are a little more manageable than a llama or an alpaca. Besides they are so darn cute. Anyway i will keep you all posted on the search and of any outcomes . As well as the newest rescue horses that make their way to this ranch. And
