Still have a few things to work out here, but things are going relatively well. We desperately are in need of panels, had a mare taco shell about 3 of them last week. The rescue horse run has been pushed to next week. I will house the ones that i can but can't take on too many. Great horses in that bunch, the fillies are coming along really well and my little weanling is a month or so out from her big weaning day. That filly will be making some big moves in the halter pen in the spring.
We are awaiting several things on our move and hopefully will know by next week, will be nice to get out of this place to one with better winters, for the horses sake mostly.
This years fall has been fairly kind to us weather wise and the warmth gives me the opportunity to really work the horses for more hours during the day. I have several people coming in this weekend to look at a bunch of horses that are up for sale. Let's hope one or all of them find homes. That will really help the hay situation and other things on my plate. We have plenty of hay left, but i am a worry wort and have to plan ahead.
Losing Joe was not an easy thing but he was at that time. He will be missed around here for the cranky old man that he was, he was a great horse and taught alot to everyone around here. Lucky old man saw the nicest summer without that nasty old winter.
Things will look up, so many good things coming, i will build pens out of woven grass if i need to, well they wouldn't last very long if i did. I have a good lead on some panels just need to get the guy to call me back, donations are always nice and the ones we have gotten so far have really helped out.
Oh and i almost forgot to mention, i am looking a lease/purchase option for a little girl in the local 4H on my little mare Ginger for this upcoming year. They will be headed out here on Monday or so to go on a ride with us and see how Ginger handles for the girl. I am so excited, even though i have no idea when th
