The Granada rescues are finally home, i was surprised to see them again in the shape they are in. Just shocks me every time that people can be so heartless and not see that there is a problem when there clearly is. They are all in some sort of terrible shape. All need their feet done big time and the colts are a little thin. Other than that they are beat up and have some nasty cuts on their faces, nothing that can't be treated. I am glad to be able to to give these horses a chance and see what they are able to do in their futures.
They will all be getting trimmed, wormed, and treated this week as well as recovery from thee crud they have and halter broke. A busy week ahead that's for sure. I have 6 horses to either saddle break or halter break this week, so i will be busy plus a green horse that needs rides and a filly to wean and halter break. And with the cold moving in it makes for very brisk mornings!
The grass is all but gone for this year and the winter hay stack is piling up. i am so lucky to have a wonderful hay source close by. Makes this whole hay thing alot easier to deal with when i can get all the hay i need easily.
