It took another 45 minutes to an hour to get them all to load. We took a total of seven horses yesterday, hopefully we will be able to go down and take some more of the babies at some point but i am very doubtful. I am pleased to report that two of the gelding have been adopted already, they are supposed to be headed to a feedlot to work cows and learn the ins and outs of working hard. The last of the older geldings headed to the trainer and after one day he was riding him around and working him. He will be there for a month and will make an excellent mount at the end of it.
I understand that people are looking for good horses these days, ones that they can trust and ride straight away without an issue. At the same time theses were rescues! Off of the mans lot they were being sold for $100, and i was willing to pick them up for people. I got several inquiries about them and alot of peoeple wanted to know if the horses were broke. Being given the amount of time i had, he was not willing to let us saddle up and ride out 26 horses. It was a grab and go situation. I know that i will find great homes for these horses, not at the same price for the older ones. I am glad to adopt out younger horses for a small fee putting into consideration the time and money it takes me to get them , train them , and get them healthy.
I am so happy to be in the position to help even ones horse that deserves to be saved let alone 4 at a time. This does fill up the rescue until we start to move some bodies out of here. These horses are absolutely gorgeous and deserve every bit of a good life that they can have. I will be posting pics and info on each of the horses as soon as they come in. So please keep checking and leave comments if would like to add anything!
