So needless to say that the rescue is going really well. I will be buying my winter hay coming up in afew weeks and getting the old place hunkered down and ready for the up coming snow. I am excited to be adding two more broodmares to the program as well, other than the one just added. There will be a mare in the load on next weeks run and one coming in October. Two APHA and one AQHA mares. This should make for a really exciting and diverse program for the performance division.
The weather has been getting colder and the nights feel really bitter in the mornings, i hope that this does not mean an early winter. i am not ready yet for that mess. Hopefully we can get the horses bunkered down and the shelters built before the ground freezes.
ALSO i am on the look out for a good donkey or mini burro. I would like to find one soon so that the herd is a little bit more protected form the predators out there. I may be picking up two little mini burros, but would really like to have a standard donkey to keep with the foals and to prtoect the herd. They make great watch dogs and are a little more manageable than a llama or an alpaca. Besides they are so darn cute. Anyway i will keep you all posted on the search and of any outcomes . As well as the newest rescue horses that make their way to this ranch. And
